Numan has served as an elected Member of Manchester Chamber of Commerce Council for several years.

He has led various initiatives at local, regional and national level to help support textiles and ethnic minority businesses in areas such as access to finance, business support and training.

Numan has been invited as Guest Speaker at a number of local, regional and national conferences and seminars and was interviewed by local and national media (radio and newspapers) on issues related to textiles and ethnic minority businesses.
