Targets are they a good thing?
Seeing the quote below recently from Deming, the author of ‘Out of the Crises’ is very pertinent.
Targets drive behaviour.
KPI’s can hamstring any organisation.
If you have got them wrong, or implement them before they are needed or you have built your value proposition to a reasonable level, you will find yourself and your organisation struggling.
W. Edwards Deming is the ‘father’ of quality having been heavily involved in the postwar renaissance of both Japanese and American industry.
A man who is worth listening to.
