Peter Riley

Location: England, Greater Manchester, Rossendale Speciality: Manufacturing, Healthcare

After graduating with a Degree in Biology from Liverpool University, Peter embarked on a business career spanning more than 40 years.

An early challenge was the turnaround of a manufacturing company in Lancashire which is still prospering today and closely involved with the local community. In 1993 he was recruited to set up one of the first Business Links in England providing support and advice to small and medium-sized businesses.

Overall, half his career has been spent running businesses (including his own) and the other half as a Management Consultant including five years mentoring business owners in deprived communities.

Peter is passionate about cultural transformation and how residents, businesses, housing, health and local government can work together to improve the quality of life especially for the most disadvantaged members of our society.

He has held various roles in the voluntary sector including setting up a café to serve the local community. He feels very grateful to have this opportunity to utilise his commercial experience to support the work of the Health and Social Care agenda in the nort west of England.

Peter lives in Rossendale and is married with four children and seven grandchildren. He cherishes his time with family and friends, as well as motoring and writing stories.
